Liu? This is Archivist Daniel Cho at the J. Edgar Hoover Building. We received your inquiry regarding the ‘Chicago Syndicate Interrogation Logs, 1960-1961’.”
“Your submission ID is HUO-711208-41.” 他顿了顿,纸张翻动声清晰可闻,“Attached to your query was a photograph dated March 15, 1961. The man in gray suit, standing beside Director Hoover. His name is recorded in our personnel index as ‘Yansheng Liu — Liaison Officer, Bureau of Intelligence & Security, State Department (seconded to FBI Counterintelligence Division, 1959-1963)’.”
“Liu Yansheng,” 他继续说,声音忽然压低,“was granted Level-5 clearance under Executive Order 10450. His file remains classified until 2061… except for one appendix. Appendix Gamma. It was declassified last week. And it references you.”
“Yes. Your Social Security Number appears in Gamma, under ‘Designated Heir to Custodial Access’. You are listed as ‘Estate Executor for all materials related to Operation Chrysanthemum’.” 他停顿,沙沙声变大,“We have a physical envelope addressed to you. Sealed. Post
